Michters Unblended American Whiskey 750 ml

This whiskey is very unique. They take an old Michter's 10yr bourbon barrel and scrape out the inner char, rechar the barrel, and fill it again with new distillate. This allows the sugars left in the barrel to caramelize, but the real star of the show is the brand's heat cycling. By opening up the blast doors of the facility during the cold Kentucky winter months, the sugars in the barrel crystalize and jump out of the barrel and into the whiskey. The doors are closed and the heat is cranked up until the crystals melt into the spirit. Now do this 4x a year for about 4-6 years at a time and you're creating an incredibly complex and flavorful whiskey at such a low proof. This one tastes like an old fashioned in a glass without the effort and it never disappoints.
